In random order, here is my 2011 “To-Done” List…

(5) Submitted query every month

(6) Illustrated daily

(7) Kept a smile in my heart, if not on my face!  :o)

I debated illustrating for 40 minutes.

I went downstairs.

I drew three pictures for the purpose of blogging about them (i love sharpie).

I tried accessing the internet and got the F-A-I-L error message of “server could not be found”

So…the images will have to wait until the hubby gets home to fix the computer.

I will tell you; however, that the coloring pages are great.

(1) Pistol with silencer.  Story: My son drew a gun at Church with a silencer.  Since I like to take anything and turn it into a lesson, I related the image to “Reverence” because although the potential for the gun didn’t change, the noise level does.  Meaning…when kids are actively participating…encourage them to be slightly quieter, but with the same enthusiasm.  

(2) Puppet on strings.  Story: A co-worker mentioned needing to illustrate to the idea of how software connected the machine to the end user.  Because international protocols and illustrations carry different meanings it couldn’t be an animal, couldn’t be something sacred, couldn’t be a person, etc…and I got the genius idea of a puppet on strings and the software was the connection –problem solved.  I like helping people.

(3) Sunshine.  Story: My car had frost on it this morning and the temperature gauge read “icy” and living in San Diego…we’re blessed that it doesn’t happen often.  How I love the sun!

Illustrations to be added soon…hubby is flying back, from east coast to fix the computer, as I type…yippee!

And because she asked for “Quack” and sat very nicely on my lap while I illustrated for her AND she didn’t shout “No No No” like the other attempts at drawing a duck…here’s the approved “Quack” which got me the prized “ah, Cute” from her.

The hubby and I decided the second book would be “Charlotte’s Web” (Lesson– loyalty and compassion honors those you love)

And Little Boy Blue insisted that we read the Great Illustrated Classic “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” for our third book.

Honestly, I’d never read any Mark Twain books…although I do like some good Huckleberry Lemonade…we were all very excited to begin the adventure of reading.

When it was over, Little Boy Blue said “That’s it, that’s how it ends” and I had to laugh.  Yes, that’s it.  Huckleberry and Tom free Jim and that’s it.  Even more funny was the fact that Mark Twain ends the book in Huck’s voice saying that if he knew the trouble of writing a book, he wouldn’t have started (I can totally relate!).
